General Information

Proposals must be submitted via the form below and received no later than May 1, 2017.

  • Conference sessions are 50 minutes in length inclusive of opening and closing remarks and Q&A.
  • SCSBOA membership is not a requirement to submit a proposal or present a session
  • Presenters receive complimentary registration to the conference. A NAMM badge, if desired, is available (to SCSBOA members only) at a cost of $15.
  • Sessions are invited that relate to any of these topics: Rehearsal techniques, pedagogy, technology, advocacy, repertoire as they relate to band, orchestra or jazz at the elementary, middle school, or high school level; or to other music courses typically taught by instrumental music teachers, e.g. general music, guitar, classroom music, etc.
  • Session rooms are equipped with a projector, screen, and lapel microphone. All other equipment must be provided by the presenter.
  • Sessions involving live performance will be considered. Proposals for such sessions must specify the type and number of performers. Instruments, music stands, etc. MAY be available with advanced notice, but anything that the SCSBOA is unable to supply must be provided by the presenter.

Session Application

  • Enter a 250-word full description of your session.
  • Enter a 35-word description of your session for inclusion in the conference program.
  • Enter a 50-word biographical paragraph for inclusion in the conference program.
  • Upload a high-resolution, print-quality photograph of yourself for inclusion in the conference program.
    Note: Maximum allowed upload size is 10MB.
    Accepted file types: jpg, jpeg, png, pdf.
  • If your video demonstration is available on another website (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo, etc.), link to it here.
  • If your video demonstration is not available on another website, upload a short 1 - 2 minute overview of your proposal.
    Note: Maximum allowed upload size is 128MB.
    Accepted file types: avi, flv, wmv, mov, mp4, avchd.
